Top Shanghainese restaurant serving excellent food at way too large portions (not a bad thing at all!) and when coming here one must try the Cong You Bing (fried green onion pancakes, in which I think every table had at least one order of the authentic stuff) and a cold glass of soy milk. Sweet and sour pork and the hot pot of vermicelli noodles with meat, fish, and veggies are a top choice as well.

First time here and it was pretty busy. Their food was really good. We order mini soup dumplings (which we realized maybe we should have gotten the regular order because the mini doesn’t come with much soup at all), a pork dish, a beef dish and bokchoy!

My absolute favourite Chinese restaurant. I drive an hour to get to it often. Their food just hits. I always get their soup Dumplings, beef pies, bean leaves, beef with onions, Minced shrimp with Lettuce, and shanghai noodles among others. I love their chili oil so much I bought some to bring home. Their service is amazing too, lovely ladies and the food comes fast!

Steamed soup dumplings, the famous signature dish, is a must try. Tasty braised beef noodle soup. Scrambled egg white with minced fish was perfectly cooked, we don't have this dish in Calgary. Everyone's favorite was the souffle balls stuffed with black sesame seeds, a famous dessert Ding Tai Fung serves. My second visit to this restaurant when we were in Toronto. Never disappointed. First time at this place and will be coming back. Every dish tasted great. Even my “least” favourite (stewed pork/preserved veg) was delicious. Came around 1:00-1:30pm and was able to get a table for 2 quickly despite them being really busy. Service was prompt and accurate. The food came out relatively quickly and almost all at once. Anything you asked for, they came out with it very quickly. Highly recommend the wontons in chili sauce, soup dumplings, braised bamboo shoots, and green beans. The beef tendon was my guest’s favourite dish. Everything had good flavour, complemented the dishes well and umami. If you want all around good food, this is the spot! The only challenge is that the plaza is always jam packed and it can take 10 minutes to find a parking spot. Account for that into your planning.

I don't care what anyone says about this restaurant being fake. All I know is the food comes quick and hot every time and it's up to standard. The food is real and the workers are real. The original flavour soup dumplings here are the best in the city. The skin is thin, the soup is flavourful, and the filling smacks you back to life. The only other place that can really compete on soup dumplings is Asian Legend. The only dish they need to work on here is the stewed beef pancake wrap. The sauce is too sweet.
